Yay! A shirt from the best music society of them all. Got this one when being with them at Warwick in 2001. Quite a plain and slightly boring shirt with a somewhat ugly back. But still one of my favourites.

Classical White Stripes T-Shirt, which I got when first seeing them play live in Logo in Hamburg in spring 2002. The shirt is quite thick and bit too wide.

I got a more subtle White Stripes T-shirt later on. But this one seems more White Stripes-ish in style.

From when I just had to go for the Some Loud Thunder pre-order + T-Shirt offer at Insound. The shirt is quite thinnish, not the best one I have.

Perhaps I have overdone it now – having a total of three Clap Your Hands Say Yeah shirts.

Got this when seeing The Lovekevins play live down the road. It was a good gig and I rather like the shirt’s design and the fact that it is one of those tubular shirts which is without seams at the side. For some reason I had to buy a ‘kids XL’ size which I’ve been very happy with.

“Vs. the Snow” is one of the better album titles as well.

I have had this shirt for ages – bought it in the early 1990s in the gift shop of MoMA in New York where it is still available today. While I find the shirt a bit too wide by now, I still love the design on it. It’s also the shirt about which people most frequently ask where I got it from.

Yay, have a look at my backside! And at some Icelandic goodness of Sigur Rós lyrics. “Ég gaf ykkur von sem vard ad vonbrigdum… Pella er áegætis byrjun” – which according to the internet looks like it's a bit of a cheat and should rather be spelled “ég gaf ykkur von sem varð að vonbrigðum… þetta er ágætis byrjun” which is said to translate to “ gave you hope that became a disappointment... this is an alright start.” So darn the people who make pretty fonts without glyphs for all those ‘strange’ characters.

This shirt by Sigur Rós is the height of subtlety. In fact, I came to the conclusion that any shopping at their T-shirt store on the web will be worth it because not only is the shirt nice, thick, well-fitting and very comfortable, the goods also make their way to you in really nice packaging. And, yup, the shirt is a dark shade of grey with Sigur Rós written on the front in silver and Icelandic text on the back. That's all.

After seeing the Yeah Yeah Yeahs inn Hamburg in 2003 – in the most powerful and exhausting gig I have ever been to I had to get a shirt to honour the occasion. My other shirt was drenched at the time anyway, so having a new one came handy. As the more subtle colours were sold out in my size, I ended up having this rather “loud” one.

An “Albion Tour 2002” shirt by the Libertines that I got when seeing them in Köln back then. It's one of the few white shirts I actually like. The band and the gig were fantastic. And they had Spoon as support band who were great as well.

Of course the wonderful Clap Your Hands Say Yeah have to acronymise their name to print it on a shirt which I got when seeing them in Berlin in February 2006. Not quite as nice as my own Child Stars shirt, I'd say, but better than the Some Loud Thunder one I got from Insound.
